Influenza is a viral infection that primarily affects the nose, throat, bronchi, and occasionally the lungs. Drosera (Drosera) contains several active compounds, including medicine flavonoids (kaempferol, quercetin, myricetin, and hyper, quinones (plumbagin glucoside and rossoliside hydroplumbagin (7 – methyl – hydrojuglone – 4 – glucoside), and other components such as carotenoids, plant acids (for example, butyric acid, citric acid, formic acid, gallic acid, malic acid, propionic acid), resin, tannins and ascorbic acid (vitamin C).

Sundew plants used as medicine since the 12th century, when an Italian doctor from the School of Salerno Platearius Matthaeus name describes the plant as a remedy herbal cough in the name of "Simple herba." It is commonly used in cough preparations in Germany and elsewhere in Europe. Sundew tea was specifically recommended by herbalists for dry coughs, bronchitis, whooping cough, asthma and "bronchial cramps." A modern study has shown that Drosera to antitussive properties.

Materia Medica 1927 Culbreth list D rotundifolia, D. anglica and D.linearis to be used as stimulants and expectant, and "of doubtful value" for the treatment of bronchitis, whooping cough and tuberculosis. Rossolis were also used as an aphrodisiac and to strengthen the heart and to treat sunburn, toothache, and prevent staining freckles. Still used today in a 200-300 registered medicines, often in combination with other active ingredients. Drosera today is usually used to treat conditions such as asthma, cough, lung infections and stomach ulcers.
