One of the first steps in establishing an effective anti aging skin care routine is to also understand the active ingredients that are prevalent in the more common products that are available on the market.  Whether you shop for your skin products at the drug store or in an office store there are some similar active ingredients and in several cases the main difference is just the concentration or the amount of that ingredient that’s in the product.  These are some ingredients you may see and the results that they produce.

Retin An or Renova vitamin A- This is a particularly powerful ingredient, but sadly many people can find that these ingredients may also be extraordinarily aggravating to the skin.  Some concentrations of this ingredient might also only be available by prescription, and so it is sometimes used to treat many of the deeper or more complicated cases of wrinkles and sun damage.

Alpha hydroxyl acid ( AHA ) or beta hydroxyl acid ( BHA ) – This ingredient is kind of common in anti aging cleaners and treatment creams it’s also infrequently listed as AHA glycolic acid.  Both ingredients haveexfoliating properties, and so they’re employed to get rid of the top layers of dead skin cells, so you can uncloak the softer, fresher skin underneath.  If you have skin that is sensitive or is susceptible to irritation you’ll need to start out at a smaller concentration since glycolic acids can increase sensitivity of the skin.

Vitamin C Ester- This antioxidant also helps the skin in producing collagen.  This alone makes it a natural choice for those looking to improve the complete appear and feel of their skin.  Vitamin C also helps to defend the skin from free radicals or pollution that we are all exposed to daily.

Mixing these products with the use of a sun lotion will serve to further protect your skin from the effect of aging and significantly reduce obvious wrinkles. Some of the best wrinkle creams contain a number of of these important components.
